Blimey Maureen. I got quite emotional listening to this. It was hard watching you go through what you have but so wonderful to watch you fight back too. Now everyone can see how formidable you are x

  2. Maureen Sharphouse says:

Thanks so much Ann for taking the time to listen to my short snippet. I will let you know when my book is finally available. I am not finding it particularly easy to write as it is taking me back to a time that was not a very great place or time in my life – but know that my story has the potential to help many people create change in their life too. Massive hug. Be happy always x

  3. Peter says:

  5. Vaneeta Martin says:

Keep writing Maureen! I found this very inspiring to listen to. It held my interest from beginning to end – would have enjoyed more. Can understand your difficulty in having to relive the past, not an easy thing to do, but so necessary to portray your life change. You illustrated this very well. I shall look forward to reading your finished book.

    • Maureen Sharphouse says:

Many thanks Vaneeta for taking the time to listen to the first chapter. I very much appreciate your words of support and encouragement. I am about the half way stage (so am getting there!) and will keep you posted of progress, and let you know when it is finally published. Much gratitude and love. I very much appreciate your support x

  6. Sharon says:

I listened to the first chapter of your book and was blown away. It was so touching but full of hope. It was so good to hear from someone going through such a challenging situation and only being an hour away from me. That’s what I like about you and your story – you are real and I can relate to you.

The introduction to your book gave me a lot of hope and inspiration. If you can overcome such challenges then so can I. I honestly can’t wait to read the rest of it. I love books that give you strategies and tasks to complete. I am very analytical and need to write lists and have plans to complete and I really think your book will be great.

    • Maureen Sharphouse says:

Thank you so much for you encouraging comments Sharon! I am so glad to have given you hope and inspiration, and ‘blown you away’ with my introductory chapter. Yes you are right – I am a real person. I am a regular wife, mummy, daughter, business owner and granny. I am not super woman. I am human. And if I can achieve what I did then you can achieve whatever you want in your life. I am simply someone who said ‘Enough is Enough’ and committed to do whatever it took to achieve my dream. xxxx

  7. Janet King says:

Ok, so the universe conspired to not post my last comment for reading … And I think that’s because I didn’t say enough! 😌
What I’ve listened to, was pure inspiration. Hope. Faith. …. A miracle in the making.
What I know for sure (in the words of Oprah), is that there is a wondrous story here to behold.

When reading, if those words give you literally, ‘goosebumps’ you know you’re reading a
‘Page turner’ and I can’t wait, to read how “the girl on the train” won her battle.

    Namaste

    • Maureen Sharphouse says:

Janet – thank you so much for listening to my introductory chapter and I am so thrilled to know that you found my words inspiring and they gave you ‘goosebumps’. The ‘girl on the train’ has indeed won her battle and it is a story from which there are many learnings for the reader. I am glad to say I am happier and healthier than I have been. I will keep on writing! With much gratitude and love for your encouragement and support. x

  8. Janet King says:

    Chicky X you’re

  10. Nicola brocklehurst says:

Thank you for sharing the start of your book. It was a real pleasure to listen to. Your opening in describing your setting when you were ill and desperately sad and frustrated really came across in your use of words. You conveyed real emotion and detail without being overly wordy which I find you get with some books. I love your style, please don’t change that!

When you spoke of your train journey, again the emotion you convey really brought a tear to my eye.
The fact your book starts with your story as opposed to some generic book on self help tips, I think is a real selling feature for you here. It makes you so much more relatable and everyone loves a success story! And the faith that change really is possible.

Have you come across a book called The Healing Code? http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Healing-Code-five-step-recovery/dp/0340899417
I mention it for information only, as your stories carry some similarities, although the main content of your books will no doubt differ. You’ll see from the reviews this book has been very well received and this is in no doubt due to power that comes from reading that it really is possible to overcome even the most severe ill health; a message clear to read from the outset of your book.

With that in mind I wonder if others seeking to read your book to achieve the same as you have, whether it would be useful to have the word Healing in your book title, or at least sub title. Just a thought! No doubt you have plenty of time to revisit the title as the content of the book progresses.

I also love the part of how your writing flows from you talking about your old life and seamlessly into the new. Again it brought a tear to my eye to hear how happy and in good health you are now.

    Best wishes
    Nicola

    • Maureen Sharphouse says:

Thank you so much Nicola for taking the time to listen to my Introductory chapter and for you encouraging words. So love that the 'train journey/lady on the train' brought a tear to your eye. I am writing from my heart and being open and honest about my life and everything I went through – as well as sharing all the steps and strategies I took to transform my life so the reader can create transformation in their life also. I am glad my story and what you have heard so far of my book has touched your emotions. I will certainly check out The Healing Code on Amazon and keep you posted of my book progress (and final title). Thank you so much for your encouraging and supportive words. Much love and gratitude to you xxxx

  11. Stuart Coia says:

It was great to listen to the audio of your introduction of your book. I became transfixed in the storytelling and calmness within the story and could’t wait to hear what was coming next. As the intro unfolded it felt that you were telling my story and that’s what hit me the most. Everyone has a story but not always have a positive result. It was inspiring to hear and from a writers point of view you want to capture your audience and you write from an optimistic point of view to allow the reader to interpret it in their own way and take what they can from it to lift them up.
Too many of us live a life of “what if” but I am in no doubt that once your book goes to market your audience will grow and hopefully inspire others to believe.. behaviour breeds behaviour. Say goodbye to all the nay sayers and live your life your way..we weren’t born to follow those who accepted the norm.. reach out and believe in yourself. You taught me that..
wish you success and I look forward to the finished article..

    • Maureen Sharphouse says:

Thank you so much Stuart for taking the time to listen to my introductory chapter – and for your supportive comments. Love that you became ‘transfixed’ in my storytelling – and ‘couldn’t wait to hear what was coming next’. Your words mean a lot to me. Thank you so much for them. Believe in yourself always. Go after your biggest dreams. Maureen x

  12. Awais Awan says:

Dear Maureen, it is with great gratitude that I would like to express my deep appreciation of you sharing the 1st chapter of your book with me. Whilst listening to the chapter I have gone through a number of emotions and feelings.
And I am in complete AWE to have had the opportunity to have been coached by you and now understand where the starting point for you had been and what you achieved.
I can not believe that in a space of 20 minutes whilst listening to your audio how much I have questioned myself and contemplated on my own life and excuses I have made. You have inspired me and your words have touched my inner self with a lot of hope and for that I express so much gratitude.
What makes this so special versus other self help books I have read is that the story is real and I can not wait to read the book.

    • Maureen Sharphouse says:

Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my audio of the introductory chapter of my book Awais. I am glad I have inspired you and “touched your inner self” and given you much hope. Be YOU. Be happy. Go after your biggest dreams and visions. I am blessed to have been working with you as a client. Much gratitude and appreciation for your feedback – and all your support. Maureen x

  13. Robert Mason says:

WOW, Maureen!! Thank you for sharing this introduction with me. What an inspirational story. I agree with you that miracles can – and do – happen every day. I truly believe that, when everybody knows the tools and techniques that we teach, the word ‘miracle’ will become redundant!

I look forward to reading the whole book and shall wait impatiently to hear that it is available to order.

Thank you so much for sharing this story, Maureen – you are a passionate, strong and inspirational woman. I send you my love.

    • Maureen Sharphouse says:

  15. Nancy Swisher says:

Maureen, I absolutely love the introduction to your book. The way you describe your ‘illness’ and that moment of choice is so powerful and fits the archetypal experience for many women—-always putting others first at the expense of their own Soul. And the way you describe what’s included in your book is so clear and enticing. I can’t wait to read this book. As a healer and coach myself, I feel that your book will be at a much deeper level than many of the self-help books out there. When the author has walked the talk and gone to the depths of where transformation actually takes place—in consciousness—the words on the page are alive. I know your book will be this sort of book. I can’t wait to read it and promote it! Nancy xx

    • Maureen Sharphouse says:

Thank you so much Nancy! So love your comment "the words on the page are alive". I thank you for taking the time to listen and for your words of encouragement and support. You are one amazing healer and coach – and your words mean a lot to me. Thank you. Heartfelt gratitude to you. I will keep you posted as things progress :) xxx

  17. Andrew Bell says:

Life is horrible, brutal and unfair, but only if you view it that way – Maureen chose not to be a victim – she could have rolled over and expired, instead she overcame and INSPIRED.
Maureen is no ordinary person, she’s an extraordinary lady.
Many people think of the issues and troubles in their lives as being part of their identity, seeing themselves as victims – but when you steadfastly refuse to accept them as being part of you, the door to a new future can open.
YOU are the answer to your current issues, because Maureen cannot make you read her book, but when you do, her guidance and support will enable you to have the life which may at the moment, seem beyond your reach.
There is a saying, ‘this lady is not for turning’ – well Maureen is, as she can help turn your life around – go on, be inspired!

    • Maureen Sharphouse says:

Thank you so much Andrew for listening and for your kind, supportive and encouraging words. You are right – I chose not to be a victim. I chose instead to be a victor. I don’t believe in the impossible for you, for me, or for the readers of my book. You can achieve whatever you set your mind to do when you take ownership of your life and responsibility. Much love, gratitude and thanks Andrew. I very much appreciate your wonderful words :)

I didn’t know you when you were ill Maureen and I can only comment from the point of view of knowing you as a wonderful vibrant person whenever we have met.

Your initial chapter is a fantastic opening to your story and one that I really do look forward to reading.
